Conversion Calories To Kilojoules

It may not look yummy in this picture but trust me it is. Mmmm.... I had this for dinner. This recipe is taken from my JC cook book called "healthy living for life".
It serves 4 and per-serve it has 2597 Kilojoules (618 cal). 13.6g of fat and 4.1g of saturated fat.
* 400g packet of fresh rice noodles
* olive oil spray
* 2 eggs lightly beaten
* 2 teaspoons peanut oil
* 500g lean rump steak, trimmed and thinly sliced across the grain
* 3 tablespoon kecap manis (or sweet soy sauce)
* 1 1/2 tablespoons salt reduced soy sauce
* 1 1/2 tablespoons salt reduce fish sauce
* 300g bean sprouts
* 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
* lemon wedges to serve
* Put Noodles in a large heatproof bowl, cover with boiling water and soak for 8 minutes or until soften (or follow packet instructions). Gently separate the noodles and drain.
* Heat a wok over medium heat and spray with olive oil spray. Add the beaten eggs, swirl to coat and cook for 1-2 minutes, chopping board, roll it up and cut into shreds.
* Reheat the wok over high heat, add the peanut oil and swirl to coat. Stir-fry the beef in batches for 3 minutes, or until browned. Remove from the wok and set aside.
* Reduce the heat to medium, add the noodles and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Combine the kecap manis, soy sauce and fish sauce, then add to the wok with the sprouts and white pepper. Stir -fry for a further 2 minutes. Return the egg and beef to the wok and stir-fry for another 3 minutes, or until the sprouts has wilted and the noodles are soft but not falling apart. Serve with lemon wedges.
* The original recipe calls for Chinese broccoli.
* I usually swap the pork for the beef.
* I also usually added chilli sauce or sambal
* I sometimes swap the lemon with lime.

When I am on call I have to run inside on the treadmill. Luckily, I figured out how to program the custom intervals so I can still do my 4:1 run:walk plan. This is how many calories the treadmill thinks I burned in 40 minutes.

I was planning to eat this concoction in a little bowl with some cheese on top but holy hell, IT WAS TOO SPICY! I had one bite and put the rest in a container to save until I pick up some tortilla wraps and sour cream. It definitely needs something to tone down the spice (and to save my mouth from going up in flames).

How Many Calories Do I Need Daily
It's not even a word, but it's the best advice I can imagine
This picture represents something very personal to me. May I ramble?
The last two years have taught me that there is nothing you can't accomplish if you set your mind to it. Sounds cliche, I know, but it's absolutely true. Will power is an amazing thing.
Motivated by a combination of about a dozen unrelated factors two years ago, I lost 90 pounds in 8 months through diet, exercise, and a lot of will power. I've kept the pounds off and am healthier -- stronger, faster -- now than I was in high school. One year ago I came up with an innovative project at work and it's proven more successful than I could have imagined at the start.
But work has been an absolute hell in recent weeks and I needed to recharge.
Yesterday -- a beautiful day in the Northwest -- I put on my Livestrong cap and went to Mt Rainier for a solo hike. I figured I'd do a challenging high-elevation hike that I've done several times before, but my energy level was through the roof and I knocked it off quickly and easily. I decided to continue up a trail that I had known about through park rangers but wasn't on any map. I ended up higher on Rainier's north side than I had ever been. All told, I hiked 8+ miles with about a 2500 foot elevation gain.
That wasn't even the end of it. When I got back to the car I unlatched my bike and rode halfway down (and then back up!) Mt Rainier itself. It was a fantastic day to push to my limits, but I didn't find any. You can live strong and then discover you can become even stronger.
So I'm posting this photo -- taken yesterday at about 8000 feet -- to remind myself during discouraging times (like the last two work weeks) that you can reach -- you can exceed -- any damn goal you choose. Challenge yourself! Live strong. Feel strong. Think strong. Anything can happen.
BTW: I took 273 photos and many of them turned out better than I could have imagined even if Ansel Adams was there coaching me. Goals were bursting all over the place yesterday. Rock songs on the radio had me pumped the whole drive home, too.
